Worn Out Rubber.
I had taken my car to the local dealer for a routine service and was informed by the service technician that ‘my offside front tyre tread depth was now below three millimetres’ and ‘it can only get worse’ he said. Well, I thought to myself, that was a pretty obvious statement, as that is what tyres do, they wear out.
The garage quoted me £170.00 for just one tyre but said that it was only an advisory and as it was the month of May and the beginning of summer, I thought that I would run with the tyre but keep a close eye on it, the nearside had one millimetre more of tread. I planned on renewing both my front tyres nearer to the start of winter.
Black Circle Tyres OnLine.
Since 2005 I had bought tyres from Black Circles and had saved quite a considerable sum of money, so when I had time I logged on to their website and searched for tyres for my car.
I am a great believer in fitting the same tyres that are already fitted to the car and I like to renew them in pairs, one cannot compromise on road safety when it comes to tyres. I found on Black Circles the very same tyres at a cost of £104.90 each, a saving of £65.10 per tyre.
September came and I noticed on close inspection that the front offside tyre had now worn down to just above 2 millimetres, the limit in England is just 1.6 millimetres for cars, and as winter was just around the corner, I decided to go ahead and purchase two new tyres of the same make, size and specification as fitted to my car.
Ordering From Black Circles.
On ordering the tyres you are able to nominate a selection of local tyre fitting garages that will do the fitting, and you can book a specific time to suit you. You pay for your tyres during ordering and I was surprised to be given another £15.00 discount, so I was able to save even more on my tyres.
The bill for my two tyres came to £194.80 including fitting, balancing, valves etc, the garage had quoted me £170.00 for just one tyre, and they were exactly the same tyres. I had saved myself in total a whopping £145.20 over the garage prices for two tyres.
A drawback of purchasing tyres from Black Circles is that you have to order a couple of days in advance, so if you needed a tyre in a hurry, for example, if you had a blow out and your tyre was irreparable, or your tyres were so badly worn and needed replacing immediately, you would not be able to get one from Black Circles today. So it is a good idea to inspect your tyres regularly and plan ahead.
The Fitting Garage.
The fitting garage was very busy and although I had an appointment, I still had to wait a while until it was my turn to have my tyres changed, this was done with minimum fuss and within one hour of me arriving at the garage. The service at the garage was quite good and I was soon on my way with my newly fitted tyres.
In conclusion, my experience of buying new tyres from Black Circles is a positive one and I definitely would buy tyres from Black Circle Tyres online again. I would recommend them to family and friends as I have saved time and money and received a good quality service.
